WHAT DOES AN IPL PHOTO FACIAL TREAT?
Unlike some other cosmetic procedures that only treat a specific condition or area, IPL Photo facial treats many different conditions all at once , including but not limited to:
FINE LINES:
This includes fine lies around the mouth, eyes and any other fine lines that may appear on your face.
AGE SPOT:
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Photo facial Treatment is one of the best treatments in the medical aesthetic industry to fight age spots. Despite it’s name photo facial, an IPL phot facial isn’t just for your face, we customize your photo facial to get rid of age spots on your hands, decolletage and face.
BIRTHMARKS:
This includes port wine stains. At time of consultation our onsite Medical Doctor will determine if your birthmark needs more than just an IPL or a BIOPSY.
POIKILODERMA:
A type of hyperpigmentation, a skin condition that appears as a reddish skin tone usually on the chest or neck.
ROSACEA:
IPL Photo facial is not a cure for Rosacea, but it will reduce the generalized redness in the forehead, cheek and chin area. Our medical Aesthetician will customize your IPL with prescription topicals, medical skin and life style changes to help you manage ROSACEA.
FACIAL VEINS:
Due to certain skin conditions , environmental effects & over use of the incorrect skincare, tiny capillaries in the face sometimes becomes more visible with age, an IPL Photo facial will certainly reduce it’s visibility.
ACNE SCARS:
An Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Photo facial Treatment helps to diminish the visible acne scars. At time if consultation we will set up a treatment plan that may include other treatments to accompany your phot facial.
DOES AN IPL TREATMENT HURT?
We ensure our patients are kept comfortable during and after treatment. The ALMA HARMONY IPL system has a cooling system built in , this ensures you’re kept cool before, during and after to ensure the skin is kept comfortable . The treatment is mildly uncomfortable but tolerably comfortable.
CAN THIS TREATMENT BE DONE DURING MY LUNCH?
Definitely, we refer to this treatment as the “GLOW FOR LUNCH” treatment.
HOW MANY SESSIONS DO I NEED?
Most patients will require 4-5 treatments per area. The exact number will depend on each individual person, the skin condition and the area being treated.
WHAT WILL I FEEL DURING THE TREATMENT:
An IPL treatment feels like a light snap or flick of an elastic band on the skin.
HOW LONG WILL THE RESULTS LAST:
It depends on how your skin reacts to the treatment and how you care for your skin afterward. For example, if you protect your skin from the sun, the results will last longer. We recommend one touch-up session every 6 months, depending on how your skin responds to the treatment.
IS THERE REALLY NO DOWNTIME?
There is no downtime. You can return to your daily schedule immediately after your treatment.
DO I NEED TO DO ANYTHING AFTER MY TREATMENT?
We usually recommend being diligent with your sunscreen regimen. Avoid tanning for at least 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after your treatment. You should also avoid hot baths, massages, or any treatment that requires direct contact with the skin for the first 2 days after your treatment. Avoid use of Retinoids/Vitamin A creams or any exfoliation skin treatments.
